The spring season is officially here, and I hope we’ve turned a corner with warmer weather in Utah. With the spring season, comes beautiful flowers, longer days and Easter. I always look forward to the holidays because my daughter comes home from college, and we get to spend some quality family time together. Though holidays can seem busy, I try to make things easy where I can. And this easy Easter dessert recipe is one your kids will love.

Easy Easter Dessert Recipe
My husband is the chef in the house, but I still know my way around the kitchen. This year, I’m excited to make these adorable Peeps Rice Krispies treats. You either love Peeps or you don’t on their own. But when you melt them down with butter into a Rice Krispies treat, they become everyone’s favorite. I also love that this dessert has all the festive Easter colors included. The kids go crazy for them. They’re easy and delicious, which checks all the boxes for me.
Peeps Rice Krispies Treats Recipe
15 individual Peeps per color (pink, yellow, blue)
1 tablespoon of butter
2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
Directions: Spray a 9″x13″ pan with cooking spray. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat. Mix in the first color of Peeps with the butter and stir together until the Peeps and butter are melted together. Be sure to do each color separate. Remove from heat. Next, add in your Rice Krispies cereal to the melted butter and Peep mixture. Finally, pour the mixture into the pan and press the mixture evenly throughout the pan. Repeat this process for the other two colors. Make a layer of each color until you have three layers with the pink, yellow and blue. Cool completely and serve. You can use Easter-themed cookie cutters to cut cute shapes or just simply cut them into squares.
